Oyster mushrooms are native to both deciduous hardwood and conifer tree species. Recognized as wood decomposers, they are ubiquitous in forestlands around the world. Known for preying on parasitic nematodes

Recommended Substrate: Straw (wheat, rice or cotton), Sawdust (alder, maple, oak, poplar, elm, aspen or cottonwood). Temperature Range: Mid 75-85F (24-29C) spawn run; 50-70F (10-24C) fruiting temperature.

Oyster mushrooms contain significant levels of zinc, iron, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, vitamin C, folic acid, Niacin, and vitamins B-1 and B-2. They boost the immune system and support healthy liver, kidneys and lungs.

Phoenix Oyster caps are much paler and smaller than other oyster species. Phoenix also prefers warmer weather than other oyster species.
